This past weekend I created this doormat for one of my coworkers. His daughters middle names are Grace and Joy, and he wanted theirs names to be the on the welcome mat into their home, which I love!! .

365/365. May I just start by saying HOLY SHIT!! I seriously can’t believe I am done with the 365 Challenge.
.

From the moment I started this journey, I knew that for the very last post I wanted to recreate my first post (swipe to the left for that one). It accidentally says Dec 2019...but it’s supposed to be Jan 2019 🙈
.
The challenge came in deciding on the style, layout, color, etc. And this was such a hard decision. What’s the right choice to mark the end of this milestone? .
.
So here it is…the final post of the challenge that both felt like I’d never get to type 365/365, and yet flew by in the blink of an eye! It’s such an odd feeling knowing I have nothing planned to post tomorrow, and there will no longer be numbers counting down to a milestone on my future posts. .
.
So what to do now? I’ve really been thinking about this for the past couple of weeks, and I think I really want to work on some in-depth passion projects and document my process along the way. I also want to focus on my Etsy store and getting involved in some local art fairs and markets…so for right now that’s the plan!
.
.
I also want to do a giveaway to mark the end of the challenge and to thank all of you for being there through my journey and encouraging me every step of the way. As I said in yesterday’s post caption, thank you to all of you!! You’ll never know how much I appreciate all of the likes, comments and DM conversations. I am so grateful I decided to embark on this journey and found an amazing community along the way. .

364/365. I am not much for believing everything ab

364/365. I am not much for believing everything about the zodiac…but I do believe some of my Virgo traits. I am a perfectionist, I am picky, and I am too critical (most times of myself). So when I decided to start hand lettering, all these traits reared their ugly heads in every moment of the process. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This past year has challenged my creativity and determination to the core. Putting my work and soul on social media every day for the past year has proved both incredibly rewarding and truly humbling. We are always told to never compare ourselves to people who’ve been doing this for years and decades, but it’s so hard when their amazing work is starring at you all over your feed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I was so hard on myself when I started, because I was the queen of comparison..but then (and by then, I mean months down the line), I realized that we all have our journey, and I had to suffer through shitty bounce lettering, uninspired layouts, and a period of stagnant lettering to come out on the other side and start to love who I am as a creative and lettering artist. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You’ve made this journey not only bearable, but enjoyable. This community is so amazing and supportive and has made all the difference in how I’ve looked at my art. 363/365. I was off work for almost nine days for the holidays, and of course, participated in my fair share of after Christmas shopping. I got home from a shopping trip to Hobby Lobby (to shop their 80% off Christmas sale), and decided I wanted to letter some pillows for my couch.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Being off for that many days, I spent quite some time on my couch and it needed a refresh. When I first got my Cricut, I went to Ikea and bought some plain white pillow cases and pillow inserts, but didn’t end up using all of them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
